Congressman Doug Lamborn, of Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District, announced today he is running for a third term.
“As a Constitutional conservative, I believe we must return to the principles upon which our nation was founded. Our only hope, if we want America to keep her premier position in the world, is to return to limited government, spending within our means, and personal responsibility and freedom.
“Those in power in Washington today spend too much, tax too much, and borrow too much. This financial irresponsibility threatens our fiscal health and future as a nation.
“Only when our country’s leaders realize that government does not create wealth, but that prosperity comes from the hard work of the American people, can we once again create real jobs.
“The National Journal ranked me as the most conservative member of Congress, with a handful of others, for my voting record on key social and economic issues in 2009. I pledge to continue standing up for conservative values if reelected to Congress for another term.”—Doug Lamborn
Congressman Lamborn is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Committee on Natural Resources, and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. He serves as the ranking member of the Energy and Minerals Subcommittee in Natural Resources, and the ranking member of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee on Veterans’ Affairs.
